The factory based in Okayama inherits the spirit and techniques of Sosakuya’s garment making, embodying the origin of Sosakuya’s creation.
Sosakuya traces its origins to 1946, starting as a tailor in Okayama City. In 1966 , it moved its workshop to Kurashiki, Okayama, laying the foundation for today. From a technical partnership with France’s Lanvin in 1971 to one with Britain’s George Harrison in 1981, it mastered techniques from Europe’s leading factories, serving not just as a production site but as a hub for technical, material, and sewing research.

An integrated system of planning, manufacturing, and wholesaling.
The products that Sosakuya seeks and asks of consumers are always high-grade and high-quality products with a high level of perfection. Transitioning from brand-dependent products to technology-driven, product-dependent brands. A hallmark of Sosakuya is its integrated system of planning, manufacturing, and wholesaling. In collaboration with one of Japan’s leading Okayama factories, recognized as a three-star facility by the IACDE (International Association of Clothing Designers and Executives) Japan branch, production is conducted.
Harmony of handmade and high-tech technology.
Our production system closely resembles handmade craftsmanship, using high-tech presses sensitive to the subtle differences in fabrics, while delicate materials are carefully finished with a hand iron. We advance technological innovation in patterning and cutting, achieving high quality through skilled handwork after assembly. To accommodate the variability of natural materials, we focus on humidity control, maintaining around 65% with our humidification system. This enables us to create products that combine the beautiful silhouette and comfort of sartorial standards. These efforts represent a part of our relentless pursuit of crafting world-class garments and the inheritance of cultivated techniques.
